ABOUT OUR SCHOOL......

Morton Memorial High School is a private school
located on the grounds of the (I.S.S.C.H.)
Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's Home
in Knightstown, Indiana.   If you would like
to read about our History, click onto these links:

%27_Children%27s_Home

Our Home provided a nurturing Home, a challenging
education and a safe environment for the destitute and
at-risk children in the State of Indiana.   There was mentoring
through teachers, officers, our Alumni Association, along
with supporting organizations such as; the American Legion,
the American Legion Auxiliary, the Sons of American Legion
(and other organizations inclusive), to see to it that our
students went on to have the opportunity to achieve their
full potential and become responsible and independent
citizens.

Unfortunately, Mitch Daniels, Governor of Indiana, decided
early in 2009 to close our Home.   As children of Veterans,
we were provided a Home with our siblings without being
separated into foster homes.   During the last election, Mitch
Daniels received the votes of many of our Alumni Members
and Veteran's organizations of Indiana because he promised
to put "KIDS FIRST."   He has let our Veteran's down, and the
kids of Indiana by closing our Home.   Wherever Mitch Daniel's
career takes him after the damage he has done in Indiana, we
will never let him forget the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors'
Children's Home.   That's a promise!!
